Once upon tomorrow

The performance Once Upon Tomorrow refuses to be placed in time.
It often refuses to be placed in space as well.
It keeps rearranging them—just as it rearranges the possible meanings that can be inscribed into the relationship between two people.
We don’t know if they are a couple, brother and sister, old friends who have grown into each other, or just strangers brought together by chance in a moment of encounter.

A work done for and with The ensemble DE.KA.DE. places the presence of a mature generation of dancers at the center of its performance, exploring the possibilities of the performance space. The piece opens up a series of situations in which we can recognize ourselves—moments that would not have the same form or strength without others. These are scenes of complementing one another, of mutual listening, and of discovering how much shared experience transforms perception.

Premiere: September 19, 2025, at the Zagreb Dance Center.

Aleksandra is a performance maker who seamlessly blends choreography with personal storytelling, inviting participants to explore and express their unique narratives through movement. Her collaborative process fosters artistic exploration and self-discovery, creating a space where each voice and body can shape the performance. As a result, every piece is distinct, both aesthetically and in movement, evolving based on the individuals she works with and their creative contributions.
