The performance PORTRAITS was produced by the Zadar Dance Ensemble in 2020 through several residency meetings with the author and choreographer Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld. "Portraits" are the result of an intersection of five different identities. They mark a moment in time where various individual perspectives, memories, and personally conditioned viewpoints intertwine. Each dancer, starting from her own understanding of a portrait, offers a specific interpretation of her experience-based perceptions and enters the intimate space of constructing meaning between her own stance and the group's (mis)understanding.

The constructed meaning forms new portraits inspired by images, words, songs, photographs, loved ones, idols, acquaintances, verses, or simply memories. Five distinct portraits unpredictably play with time, blending into shared images, from which individual portraits emerge in an (un)defined rhythm, with the performers highlighting their own significance and interpretation. Thus, Portraits are a playful exploration between five different experiences, individuals, and backgrounds, attempting to fit into a common format while simultaneously emphasizing the value of a shared process imbued with establishing relationships between seemingly incompatible images and individuals.

Predstava PORTRETI nastaje u produkciji Zadarskog plesnog ansambla tijekom 2020. godine kroz nekoliko rezidencijalnih susreta s autoricom i koreografkinjom Aleksandrom Janevom Imfeld. «Portreti» su rezultat presjeka pet različitih identiteta. Označavaju vremensku točku u kojoj se međusobno prelamaju različiti individualni pogledi, uspomene i osobno uvjetovane perspektive. Svaka od plesačica, polazeći od vlastitog poimanja portreta, donosi specifičnu interpretaciju svojih iskustvom uvjetovanih poimanja te ulazi u intimni prostor konstruiranja značenja između vlastitog stava i grupnog (ne)razumijevanja. Konstruirano značenje novi su portreti inspirirani slikom, riječi, pjesmom, fotografijom, dragom osobom, idolom, poznanikom, stihom, ili jednostavno uspomenama. Pet različitih portreta nepredvidljivo se poigrava s vremenom, stapajući se u zajedničke slike, iz kojih se u (ne)određenom ritmu izdvajaju individualni portreti kojima izvođačice ističu vlastiti značaj i interpretaciju u prvi plan. Portreti su, stoga, poigravanje između pet različitih iskustava, individua i pozadina, pokušaji ukalupljivanja u zajednički format te istovremenog naglašavanja vrijednosti zajedničkog procesa koji je prožet uspostavljanjem odnosa naizgled nespojivih slika i individua.
